In this curated series we get up close and personal with the incredible individuals who inspire us, unearthing styling advice, hot takes and industry insights. For our latest edition, we sat down with Elle Ferguson—Founder of Eleffect and the fashion label, Felle. She’s also a model, style icon and ultimate Mimco muse. Here’s what we learned from our five minutes in conversation with Elle.
01. How would you describe your style?
I have always said its eclectic because one day I can be super feminine and the next masculine. However the more I travel the more I believe my style is quintessentially Australian. It’s off-duty, with great hair, a perfect handbag, good shoes and usually involves denim.
02. Who are your style icons?
Number one would be my mum. The way she would put an outfit together was so uniquely her and the ability to go for a swim and then look like she should be in Paris truly made her one of a kind. Next up would be the explore page on Instagram. I love doing deep dives into pages I don’t even know and finding amazing style icons from all around the globe.
03. What MIMCO PIECES ARE YOU CURRENTLY COVETING?
I love the versatility of the Alina Shoulder Bag for winter, Mahogany is the colour of the season. Another piece I love is the Aura Grab Bag. I have it in red, and it really is the most perfect evening bag. I love the pop of colour. I also have my eye on the Quintessential Watch and the Pebble Long Necklace. I am gravitating towards wearing a watch as an accessory again, and I love the drama of a long pendant necklace—I feel like they both really amplify your outfit!

04. WHAT’S YOUR ULTIMATE STYLING TIP?
For me I love to start with a white t-shirt and a black blazer. It's like starting with a blank canvas, it allows you to add the magic with your accessories.
05. Is there a current trend that you are loving?
At the moment, you can break all the rules you once knew. You can mix and match gold and silver, and most of all it doesn’t really have to make sense, you just have to have fun!
06. How do you stay up to date with fashion trends?
I am so incredibly blessed to be able to attend Paris Fashion Week and for me this is really where I see the trends start. It’s not only on the runway, it’s also what all the women are wearing to the shows and in everyday life.
07. What are the three essential accessories in your wardrobe?
A great cocktail ring (think one for your pointer finger), a statement necklace (preferably gold), and a pair of sunglasses that just make you seem like you’re somebody fabulous.
08. What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Mimco?
ICONIC!

What are the key summer trends this party season?
This event season is all about making a statement. You can expect to see plenty of bold designs continuing to shine throughout the warmer months.
